Kilogram uses food and nutrition information from Open Food Facts, USDA FoodData Central, and the developer-maintained Kilogram catalogue. The values support diary calculations and may not exactly match a particular product or serving. Check relevant packaging and entered quantities when accuracy matters.
Open Food Facts
Part of the catalogue is derived from Open Food Facts, a collaborative database contributed to by its community.
The database is available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. Individual database contents are available under the Database Contents License (DbCL) 1.0. The Kilogram-derived OFF catalogue remains subject to the applicable data licences; it is not covered by an exclusive-rights notice for the app's own code or branding.

The derivative contains a reduced set of fields. Earlier processing merged normalized names and close nutrition values, rounded averages, and filtered some records. Entries are not verified copies of individual product labels. The accompanying notices describe these changes. This catalogue contains no product photographs, and the Kilogram icon is not sourced from Open Food Facts.
The download is hosted on Google Drive. Its accompanying notices and metadata describe the distributed catalogue and its processing. It contains public food catalogue information, not users' personal diaries. Credit for the original source belongs to Open Food Facts and its contributors.
USDA FoodData Central
Kilogram includes nutrition data from FoodData Central, maintained by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service.
Dataset used in Kilogram: October 10, 2023 (date provided by the developer). This identifies the dataset used by Kilogram; it is not a claim that the app contains the latest USDA data or a separately verified official release number.
USDA describes FoodData Central data as public-domain information published under CC0 1.0.
Kilogram catalogue
The Kilogram nutrition catalogue is compiled and maintained by Rinat Abidullin. It was assembled manually using product labels, books, and other reference materials, rather than by scraping a particular store's website.
This provenance statement does not place all reference materials under a new open licence or override rights in those materials. Open Food Facts and USDA licence notices apply to their respective data, not automatically to every catalogue in the app.
Accuracy and attribution
Product composition, labels, and serving sizes can change. Values may be incomplete, approximate, or outdated. Listing a source does not imply that it endorses or certifies Kilogram.
